Family Reunion

Saturday, Kevin, Bailey, and I went to the annual Bell-Scott family reunion. It was great to see all of our extended family members. Dad and Mom made their bar-b-que and everyone else brought side dishes. After eating, we played "Let's Make a Deal". Last year, Kevin won the final prize - a week at Seabrook. This year Uncle Ricky won the beach trip - ya'll will have a great time!

For the kids, they had a blow up water slide. Bailey had a great time playing on the water slide with his cousins.

A LOT of hard work...

This is what our house looked like nearly two and a half years ago when we purchased it. After a lot of hard work (and a ton of money), we have turned this run down 1900 plantation house into our beautiful (still needs work) HOME! One of our goals this summer is to replace all the windows in the house. We have two more windows upstairs and then we can begin the downstairs. Also this summer, we would like to turn our master bedroom/bath into what it truly is, a MASTER bedroom and bath. We are adding a walk in tile shower to the bathroom and will be having both rooms repainted and redecorated. We have recently added more flower beds in the front, and are currently in the process of putting a privacy fence around the back. It has taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears to make this house a home for our family and we are proud of what we have accomplished so far.

Happy Father's Day

Fathers are Wonderful People
Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should...

For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills...

And Father struggles daily
To live up to "HIS IMAGE"
As protector and provider
And "hero or the scrimmage"...

And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad's heart,
Where no one else can see
You'll find he's sentimental
And as "soft" as he can be...

But he's so busy every day
In the grueling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife...

But Fathers are just WONDERFUL
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolade of praise,

For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness...

And like OUR HEAVENLY FATHER,
He's a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
To be ALWAYS ON OUR SIDE.

USC Football Camp

Chandler attended football camp at USC this past week. While up there, he stayed in the football player dorms. He had a blast! While at camp, Chandler caught two interceptions, three passes, and made one bat-down. He had Steve Spurrier sign one of his workout shirts. They split the campers up into teams according to age. Chandler's team won the airball championship and received Underarmor Gamecock hats!

Swimming Lessons

Bailey started last Monday with swimming lessons. He is taking them through the YMCA in Lexington. The lake is split up into three sections so that they can teach the fundamentals while the swimmers can still touch the bottom. He has had a blast learning how to swim!

When he is not at swimming lessons, he is playing with his friends that live around his grandma's house. He has also spent time with his great-grandma. Obviously he is having a blast up there because he doesn't want to come home yet!

Summer is Officially Here!

Yesterday the school year was officially over for Chandler and Bailey. Summer is officially here for them and boy are they excited!

Bailey is at Grandma's and already having a great time. He has gone fishing and played in the pool. Next week, he starts swimming lessons up there!

Chandler is still at home but is hoping to spend some time with Poppi this weekend. He has been swimming at the lake and Mr. Rick's pool. Yesterday, he took a ride on Mr. Rick's new tractor. Next week, Chandler will be at USC from Wednesday till Friday morning for football camp!

Kevin and I are hoping this weekend we can go up to Columbia to meet Tequila and Kensleigh at Babies R Us for some baby furniture shopping.
