How we spent our Birthday!

After getting the boys up yesterday morning and getting them ready for school, I had them wake up Kevin to tell him Happy Birthday and give him their card and present. Then we headed off to school. On the way, they asked me what I was going to do while they were at school. Chandler said, "Mommy I think you should go shopping." A boy after my own heart (as long as he doesn't have to go). Bailey's response was more like Kevin, "Why do you need to go shopping?" Before I could say anything, Chandler responded by saying, "It's her birthday and if she wants to go shopping then she can!" (If he keeps that attitude, he will make his wife very happy one day!)

Since Kevin didn't have to go to work yesterday, we decided (or rather I decided) that it would be a good day to get some of Christopher's stuff out of his old room and start getting it ready for the baby. Here is what we started with:

Christopher did come home over Memorial Day weekend and moved most of his belongings into the attic, so that helped. I spent this past week going through the drawers that had some of my clothes in it. Then yesterday, Kevin installed three new windows and moved Christopher's furniture into the attic. Now all that is left from Christopher's old room is the bed. Here are some pictures of what it looks like right now.

The first picture shows the new window that Kevin put in and a picture of some furniture for the baby's room. The second picture is a decluttered view of the room.

The nursery theme is going to be The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The BABY!!

As most of you know, we had our ultrasound Friday morning. Everything still looks good. The baby was breeched during the ultrasound (which can/will change over the next four months), sitting indian style sucking a thumb. At first, the baby would not cooperate with the ultrasound tech. It took alot of poking and twisting to get a view and determine the sex of the baby.

To much of our surprise (since Kevin's family has not produced one in generations) we are going to be welcoming a little GIRL into our household full of boys!!!

Kevin was soooo excited...he has been walking on cloud nine since the ultrasound tech told us. The boys on the other hand were a little less excited - they don't want to have to "always put shorts on".

Today we did a little "looking" at Babies-R-Us. Which means, I already bought a few things like onesies and sleepers. I had to be the first person to buy something for my new little girl!

We are still working on names for our bundle of joy but will let everyone know as soon as we make our decision.

Backyard Baseball

Since the weather was beautiful this afternoon and Kevin got home early, we decided to play some baseball in the backyard. Kevin pitched and the boys took turns batting and playing outfield. The three dogs each had different agendas. Cocky just happen to find a mud puddle...and he had a great time! He would chase after the ball and try to catch it. When it went past the mud, he would take a break and roll in it! The other two dogs kept their distance from the mud. When the "game" was over, Kevin had to give Cocky a bath on the back patio....which he did not enjoy as much as the mud. Here are some pictures of our Backyard Baseball game:

Weekly Update

There are a few items to report this week. I went to the doctor today and everything is still looking normal. Still no weight gain so I am thankful for that. We will have our ultrasound next Friday at 10:45 in the morning - I am so excited and ready to start shopping for baby things!!
I signed Chandler up for football camp at USC. He will be up there from June 10 thru the 12th. He will be spending the night in the Gamecock football player dorms and practicing on their practice field. He is really excited about attending camp again this year.
Bailey will be going to swimming lessons in June up at the Lexington Family YMCA (where his grandmother lives). I am sure he will enjoy him self. He will be taught the basics of swimming above and underwater. He is excited about getting in the pool!
Kevin is still staying busy with construction but will be attending a class next Tuesday thru Thursday to get his residential insurance adjusters license.
Other than that, we are just trying to make it through the last few weeks of school and trying to plan the summer!

17 Week Update.

I went to the doctor on Wednesday for my blood work. I have lost a pound, so I am now negative one pound in the weight area...I was very excited. My blood work should be back within the next 10 days but they do not forsee any problems. Next week I go for my monthly check up. The most important thing will be happening on the 22nd...we will have our sonogram to find out that we are having a little boy (hopefully). I will keep everyone updated as much as possible.

Soccer is OVER!

The boys had their last soccer game last night. They ended up tying 2-2. Their record for the season was 5 wins and 3 ties. Chandler ended the season with 25 goals....not bad! Bailey ended the season with 4 goals and many saves as goalie. The boys had a great time playing this year under Coach Keith.

After the game, the team went to Pizza Hut for a pizza party and to receive their trophies. When all was said and done, the parents were excited about leaving....it was very noisy!

You can look at more pictures of the boys playing soccer on: www.mvppicsonline.com
Click on Soccer then 6-8yr olds. Their team is Terminators. There are really good pictures of Chandler and Bailey on that website. You can also order from that site too.

Author Celebration

On Friday, Chandler had his "Author Celebration" at school. Of course, he wrote his poem about the Iraq war. I did get some pictures of him reading his poem to his fellow classmates and their parents. Afterwards, they had refreshments set up for everyone.
