What we have been up too...

Friday, I took Addie to the doctor for a recheck on her ears, which are now cleared up, and her 6 month check-up. She now weighs in at 16.6 pounds, 75 percentile, and is 26 1/4 inches tall, also 75 percentile. Her first tooth has finally broken thru the gums, YEAH! She is now working on getting the second tooth on the bottom thru and her top teeth aren't far behind...needless to say, she has been very busy in the teething department. Addie has been scooting all over the place, she can't crawl yet but can still get to where she wants to be. She loves to eat baby food and "real" food, although nothing green in baby food. She does have a lot of separation anxiety, so hopefully me going to the gym and leaving her for an couple hours a few days a week will help with that.

Both Chandler and Bailey really miss their daddy. They have both been giving me a hard time lately...and I'm just trying not to lose it with them. They are ready for school to be out for the summer and quite frankly, so am I! Chandler is playing soccer and has two games left, one April 27th and one May 4th.

This past week, I joined one of the gyms in Aiken. I'm hoping that working out will help relieve some of the stress and help tone my body back up. Saturday, I started the Zumba class, which was a lot of fun, and will be taking it twice a week. My plan is to work-out at least three days a week in the gym and walk two days a week.

Kevin is now in Plentywood, Montana. He has pushed his leave date to Afghanistan back until June 6, but will not be able to come home before he leaves.

"Lunch with the Girls"

Today, Addie and I went by to pick up Nanny Cato and met Aunt Julie at Cracker Barrel for lunch. It was so nice to sit and talk with Nanny...it's been a long time since both me and "Julia" could spend time with Nanny. And I want Addie to grow up knowing who Nanny Cato is and listening to her stories.

After we finished eating, we sat outside in the rockers and talked some more! It was so much fun that we are planning on the four of us getting together on a regular basis.

Past Memories...Making New Memories

As a little girl, I remember several things...like going to the zoo, spending the night (or the whole weekend) at Allison's (Blanks) house, swimming at Kristen's (Eubanks) house, playing dress-up with Tequila and Kristal (Gunter) at Kristal's house, going to the zoo, climbing the tree beside momma and daddy's driveway, spending a week at Hilton Head (and always getting stung by jellyfish).....the memories go on and on.
I remember going to daycare and dance with Kristal. As we got older, our lives (or schools) took us in different directions. Now that we are grown and married with children of our own, our lives have seemed to join our paths back together. Now we are making memories with our kids together...starting with the zoo!
So, Kristal and I loaded the three kids, Ashlyn, age 5, Cody, age 2, and Addie, 6 months, into the car and headed to Riverbanks Zoo. We enjoyed a nice (yet very pollinated) picnic lunch before heading into the zoo. Of course we picked "Fun Day" to go, so it was a little crowded, but the weather was beautiful and we all had a great time (and all 3 kids slept on the way home!!)!

Update on Kevin

Kevin has now been in North Dakota for three months. While we were visiting him over spring break, he received his orders for Afghanistan. He will be going to Virginia on May 23rd for pre-deployment stuff and fly out for Afghanistan on May 28th (yes, that is mine and his birthday). The kids and I will be able to see him approximately every three months. We would appreciate everyones thoughts and prayers throughout this next year. It will not be easy for any of us but we are ready for the challenge.
Due to the deployment orders, we thought that Kevin would no longer be going to Montana to start the construction projects...boy, were we wrong. Today, Kevin received an email from his boss telling him to report to Montana on Monday. So now, Kevin will be living in Plentywood, Montana until he is to report to Virginia on May 23rd.
As soon as I get new addresses for Kevin, I will pass them along to whoever wants them.
Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. We love you all!

Visiting...

On Saturday, we went to Nanny and Grandaddy's for a fish fry. The boys had a great time riding on the boat and playing outside. Addie loved swinging on the swing set with her cousins. It was great spending time with all of the family and seeing Amanda and her family.

Today, we went out to daddy and momma's for a while after the boys got out of school. All three kids loved riding on the Gator with Poppi. Poppi took Addie over to see Aunt Teesee too!

6 Months Old

It is hard to believe that our baby is now six months old. She is growing very fast. She loves sitting and playing with her brothers. She almost has her first tooth in, too. She enjoys playing in her exersaucer and "talking" to whoever will look at her.

Water Fun

We decided to take the kids to the indoor water park at the mall. The boys had a great time sliding down the three slides and swimming in the pools.

Addie loved the hot tub...she thought it was one big bathtub!

She also enjoyed playing in the kiddie area with her daddy.

For lunch, we went to Grizzly's to eat...but Addie was so exhausted!

EASTER

Kevin made a big Easter morning breakfast including french toast. Addisyn discovered that french toast was yummy...especially when her daddy dipped it in syrup!

After breakfast, the kids opened their Easter boxes.

We got everything cleaned up from breakfast and got Addie down for her morning nap. Then the boys and I dyed Easter eggs. We made an egg for everyone to use as "place cards" for when we had dinner.

Later that afternoon, we visited Greg's parents and took them some colored eggs. We all had a wonderful Easter dinner of baked ham, macaroni and cheese, squash casserole, green beans, croissants, and asparagus. It was all delicious and everyone had a great time.

Bang, Bang

We took the boys out to Greg's cousin's farm to shoot guns. The boys were really good at shooting the glass bottles that Kevin and Greg sat up for them. On the other hand, it took me a while to be able to hit the old washing machine that was out there...guess it's a good thing I'm not a hunter!

Minot Airforce Base

Kevin had to go into work, so we all got up, got ready and dropped him off at the office.

The boys loved riding around the base looking at the planes they had on display.

I remember when I was little and we would go on vacations and momma would have to stop and read all the displays...us kids would usually look like this...

But momma would be proud of Chandler because he stopped and read them all!
